Retired New York law enforcement officer Juli Lathrop saves shelter dogs from death row in upstate N.Y. through her non profit rescue organization The Kramer Foundation. Juli trains these innocent, resilient dogs to be service dogs, military vet companions, search and rescue dogs for K9 Units and family therapy dogs. She takes the help a step further and works with at risk youth by teaching the kids to train and properly care for our canine companions. The human canine bond keeps these youngsters out of trouble and allows them to build self-confidence and self-discipline. While visiting with Juli, we meet and hear the stories of rescued dogs Lucy and Rambler and we get an update on Mia, a sweet dog we helped save from a rural Georgia shelter. These 3 lovable souls are only 3 of over 1000 dogs that have a new leash on life thanks to Juli and The Kramer Foundation.
